Swiss Golf Awards 2024 –Recognizing Switzerland’s Finest Golf Destinations

The Swiss Golf Awards 2024 have once again demonstrated which golf courses, destinations, and service providers are most highly regarded by the Swiss golfing community. Over a period of nearly four months—from mid-August to the end of November 2024—golfers from across Switzerland had the opportunity to cast their votes in various categories. A total of 18,204 votes were recorded, reflecting the personal experiences, impressions, and assessments of the nominees’ performances.

Now in their seventh edition, the Swiss Golf Awards are distinguished by their democratic and independent voting process, free from external influence, providing a genuine reflection of the preferences within the Swiss golf community. Special Achievement Award 2024

Honoring an Outstanding Contribution to Swiss Golf

In addition to the standard award categories, the Swiss Golf Awards Board has chosen to bestow a special honor this year: the "Special Achievement Award." This prestigious distinction has only been awarded on two previous occasions—once to Reto Bieler, in recognition of his contributions during the COVID-19 lockdown, and once to Nicola Valerio, for his dedication to supporting golfers with intellectual disabilities in Ticino.
In 2024, this distinguished award is presented to an individual whose unwavering commitment has made a lasting impact on Swiss golf:
Monsieur Yves Mittaz
Since 1987, for over 38 years, Yves Mittaz has demonstrated exceptional dedication in organizing the Omega European Masters in Crans-Montana—Switzerland’s most prestigious golf tournament, renowned on the international stage. Through his tireless efforts, the event has evolved into a premier platform, offering Swiss golfers the opportunity to compete against top players from the DP World Tour, either through qualification or the awarding of wildcards. Year after year, he has ensured the participation of an outstanding field of players, providing golf enthusiasts with a truly world-class experience.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Yves Mittaz for his invaluable contributions and unwavering passion for Swiss golf.

Swiss Golf Awards

The "Swiss Golf Awards" is intended as an award for extraordinary merits in connection with services in the context of golf. Among the different categories, Swiss golfers distribute their vote to the preferred golf clubs or service partners.

The voting format is unique in that it is not a specific jury but the golfers in Switzerland who have the opportunity to vote for their golf club as well as various service providers such as restaurants, travel providers and airlines from their point of view.

The award thus reflects the Swiss golf community and makes the choice all the more valuable.
